Having been to Zingela before and knowing how beautiful it is, I knew this wedding was going to be amazing. When Jenny asked me to be a part of her and Peter’s special day, and telling me that it would all be down at Zingela, It made me jump for joy, as I knew it was going to be different to most weddings. Their guests seemed to trickle in a few days before the big day and were set up in either the bush houses, or in the tented camps, along the river bed. I could see when I arrived there was evidence that the guests days had been filled with time spent chilling by the river, fishing, drinking and relaxing – the perfect set up to ensure your guests have had just as memorable time as the happy couple.
This was a bush wedding through and through and I loved every minute of it. Have to trek through the thorn veld to visit the guys, wait for ostriches to clear the road so we could drive up to Jenny and a ceremony on the krans over looking the river – made for a spectacular day . Another thing which I loved was that each family members’ furry children were just as apart of it as anyone else and this is evident throughout all the pictures, with Bunny ( Jenny’s baby) having one of the most important jobs of the day – the ring bearer.
Sometimes when you get caught up in the wedding chaos, you need to stop, take a breath and remind yourself of this beautiful place we call home! Thank you again Jenny and Peter for inviting me to be there. I hope my pictures capture the excitement, planning, laughter and happiness that I got to experience with you. xx Kate
