Capturing the essence of someone’s life can be quite challenging. In some instances, as a photographer, you are often introduced to someone for the first time and are given the responsibility, sometimes with only a hour, to document it all through only pictures, and give everyone a small glimpse into someone else life . Keri ( from the awesome blog MidlandsMusings) wanted me to do this very job, document her and Andy on the farm so she would have memories of their life at that very point. Luckily documenting them would be a little easier for me as ive know Keri for a while, as we go back to good old school days and secondly ive as Ive grown up on a farm and understand how farm life works. She warned me that Andy would have been up before the birds had even opened their little eyes, cutting and loading cabbages, probably very dirty and rushed but I knew that this is what happens when working on a farm. Your day is different from one day to the next, there are no set work hours, no set meals time or breaks, so Keri and I strolled around the farm together chatting and when we could, grabbing Andy between loads, to snap a few pictures and I was even spoilt to a delicious breakfast and coffee afterwards by Andy himself ( he is a chef, so it was no standard egg and bacon but a masterpiece). I loved our morning together and I hope that these pictures tell a story and that you get an small glimpse of what their life was like at this very time. xx ps sadly as I write this Keri and Andy are packing up their life to move to CPT for a new adventure. Head on over to her blog to read all about it.
